Parents with their kids started to gather at the new BPC Day Care Center from 8:30 AM to attend the opening of the Center. The gathering was presided by the Hon’ble Chairman, BPC Dasho Tshering Dorji, Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. karma P. Dorji, Offtg. Director General , DHPS, MOEA, Hon’ble Board Member, BPC along with the BPC Management and staff.
With space for up to 50 children of BPC employees, the center offers day care from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM at monthly rate of Nu. 300/-
The center has been made to be conducive for learning for preschool students. It is equipped with instructional materials and recreational items. Beside the learning room (Class room), the center has a quite room/sleep room for the children to take rest during the day time and a kitchen to store snacks. Panel heaters have been installed in each room to keep the rooms warm during the winter.
By providing day care in the work, company hopes to improve employee morale and absenteeism because fewer employees need to take time off to look after their children. For now more than 30 children have been registered with the center. The center will be headed by Ms. Yeshi Wangmo and Ms. Tshering Pem.
