Bhutan Power Corporation Ltd. signed its first Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) of Thailand on April 29, 2016 at Rochog Pel Hotel, Thimphu for an initial period of two (2) years. The MoU aims to promote and exchange information, technology, knowledge and experience of the electricity utility business on the principle of equal reciprocity both in Thailand and Bhutan. In doing so, both parties shall conduct Regular Exchange Program such as attending meetings and technical visits for consultancy or on-the-job training as per the mutually agreed scope and cooperation.
The delegates also visited BPC training center, CMTD, Begana, 22o/66/22 kV Semthokha substation, ESD Thimphu, Wangdue, Punakha and Paro, and 600 kW wind power plant during their 5 days visit to Bhutan.
