BPC in coordination with Ministry of Labour & Human Resources conducted assessment for Transmission & Distribution lineman from 5 to 10 October, 2015 for the award of National Competency Certificate (NC) level 1&2 in coordination with Department of Occupational Standard, Ministry of Labour & Human Resources with observers from Bhutan Electricity Authority (BEA).
The assessments were carried out with the following objectives;
- Meet the requirement of the Regulatory Bodies
- Enhance employee motivation and productivity
- Employee commitment
- Mobility across organizational boundaries
- Align the designation with the job responsibilities of an employee
- Do away with some designation that has become obsolete such as “meter readers”
- Provide and support competency based career advancement
- Optimal utilization of human capitals
The assessments were conducted through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) i.e recognized through skills and competency based examinations in which theory examination carries 40% & practical carries 60% of the total marks. A total of 295 employees both regular and muster roll from DCSD & DCD have been assessed in 2015. The overall assessment from FY2012 to FY2015 in BPC stands at 371.
