MD conferred khadar to the recipients of Fast Track Promotion. Though they were given the responsibilities and position as equal to the other General Managers, they were in Grade A2. Since their achievements and contributions as a General Manager were found excellent and considering the work load they were shouldering, they were promoted from grade A2 to A1. MD, Management and the gathering congratulated the recipients.

The Renewable Energy Department, Bhutan Power Corporation Limited has a budget provisioned and intends to apply part or whole of the proceeds for the procurement of Consultancy Service under the Rehabilitation of (3 x 250kW) Chenary Mini-Hydropower Plant at Trashigang. The services include carrying out topographical survey and geological mapping at intake site. The Bhutan Power Corporation Limited now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services.

Invitation to registration/renewal of Manufacturer’s
31/BPC/PSD/VR/
Procurement Services Department (PSD), Bhutan Power Corporation Limited (BPC) will be carrying out the registration/renewal of registration of manufacturers as restricted brand and will be coming up with the approved vendor list (which will be used in the upcoming tenders for the procurement of goods for distribution lines and substations). The registration is open from 6th February 2017 to 6th March 2017.
Therefore, interested manufacturers may submit the details as asked in the Vendor Registration Form as per Annexure -1.
For those manufacturers who are registered with BPC in 2016 should submit the details as asked in the vendor registration renewal form as per Annexure-2.
The goods for which PSD, BPC will register the vendors are given in Annexure -3 and the vendor registration process is attached as Annexure -4.

World Water Day-Mass Cleaning Campaign of Chubachhu Stream
In keeping with the resolution of stakeholder consultation meeting held on March 16, 2017 at RSPN conference hall in Thimphu to observe “World Water Day” on 22nd March, 2017 and for adoption of Chubachhu stream by stakeholders and community located in the vicinity of Chubachhu stream, BPC adopted the section of Chubachhu stream near ChubachhuPower Substation to clean and maintain it on a periodic basis.
As per the directives from our Honorable Managing Director, a team of representatives from Environment & GIS Divisionand ESD-Thimphu participated in World Water Day Programme (22nd March 2017) organized by National Environment Commission Secretariat (NECS) in partnership with Bhutan Red Cross Society (BRCS), Royal Society for Protection of Nature (RSPN), Clean Bhutan and Thimphu Thromde.
His Excellency Lyonchen Tshering Tobgay graced the opening ceremony and more than 22 organizations with their workforce joined the occasion to clean the Chubachhu stream and to formally take the responsibility to maintain and adopt the stream in years to come.
Environment & GIS Division would like to thank our Honorable MD for his consent to maintain and adopt the stream and we would also like to thank staff of O&M, ESD-Thimphu for their efforts rendered in mass cleaning of the Chubachhu stream area near Chubachhupower substation. We collected more than 30 bags of waste from the area and handed over to Thimphu Thromde for proper dumping.
Finally, we would like to state that the staffs of EGD and O&M-ESD-Thimphutshall strive to work towards keeping the Chubachhu stream clean and healthy for all times to come.

The Supply and Construction of 33/11kV, 2 x 5MVA GIS Substation at Tshongdue, Paro
The contract for “The Supply and Construction of 33/11kV, 2 x 5MVA GIS Substation at Tshongdue, Paro” was awarded to M/s. Bhutan Engineering Power Co. Pvt. Limited, Thimphu (BEPCPL) at Nu. 63.142 million On March 23, 2017.
The contract period is 18 months. The project once complete, will meet the power requirement of Tsongdue town, Paro dzong and Ugyen Pelri Palace. The project will also improve the power reliability of Paro Dzongkhag by forming ring networks of 33kV and 11kV lines.
